Yohananof price comparison
Yohananof has stores of very different sizes, from large ones to small urban shops. The chain average is a figure no branch actually charges — what you pay is the price of the store you walked into. So Kniham works at branch level: pick the store you are in, and the prices follow it. Comparing two chains by their averages compares two figures nobody pays.
Where the chain came from
The chain was founded in 1992 and privately held by the Yohananof family — Mordechai and his four children. In November 2019 its securities began trading in Tel Aviv, with the family keeping control. As of 2023 it has 42 branches.
How the prices reach us
This chain publishes its branch prices on a shared price-publication site, where most of the publications we read also sit. The price shown is the last one we have read for the branch you picked.

What you can do in the app
- Scan a barcode in the aisle and see the price here and at other chains.
- Pick the branch you are in, and your list shows its prices beside each item.
- Keep a shared list with the family — it carries on working with no signal, and syncs when it returns.

Common questions
Why does the price change between branches of one chain?
Each branch publishes its own price list, and chains price by store size, local competition and what the store costs to run.
Can I see what I bought last time?
Yes. Purchase history keeps what you bought and when, so a repeat list can be rebuilt instead of written from scratch.
