How to invite someone to a list

A shared list starts with one invitation. No shared account, no password to pass around.

The steps

  1. Open the list you want to share.
  2. Choose to share it, and decide whether the other person is an editor or a viewer.
  3. Send the link that is created — WhatsApp, a message, whatever suits.
  4. They tap it, confirm, and they are in the list.

When the app is not installed

This is the case that normally breaks link sharing. Here it is handled: tapping the link opens a page that leads to the install, and the invitation itself is kept. On the app's first launch the person lands directly in the list they were invited to, with no code to type and no need to resend the link.

Permissions

  • Editor — can add, tick, change and delete.
  • Viewer — sees the list and its updates without editing.

You can remove a participant at any point. The link itself is meant for people you trust: whoever holds it can join.

What if they do not have the app?

The link takes them to the install, and the invitation waits. On their first launch afterwards they land in the right list without typing any code.

Can I invite someone as a viewer only?

Yes. You can invite someone as a viewer, who sees the list without editing it, or as an editor.
